Why Air Duct Cleaning NJ?
Dirty HVAC systems can reduce indoor air quality and the efficiency of your heating and cooling systems. Duct Dudes Cleaning service addresses dirty HVAC systems helping customers to realize improved indoor air quality and maximize the efficiency of building energy systems.
Indoor Air Quality
In a thousand square foot residential or commercial area, up to 40 pounds of dust is created annually. Heating and cooling systems are the lungs of your home or office. The system takes air in and breathes air out. Through normal occupation and activity, we generate many contaminants and air pollutants (dander, dust, and chemicals). These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated an average of 5 to 7 times per day. Over time, this re-circulation causes a build-up of contaminants in the duct work.
While dirty ducts don’t necessarily mean unhealthy air in your home or workplace, they may be contributing to larger health issues or harboring contaminants that could cause serious problems for people with respiratory health conditions, autoimmune disorders or environmental allergies. Regular duct cleaning will improve indoor air quality improving the health benefits of building occupants.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 25 to 40 percent of the energy used for heating or cooling is wasted. Contaminants in the heating and cooling system cause it to work harder and shorten the longevity of your system. Although filters are used (as discussed above), heating and cooling system still get dirty through normal everyday use. When an HVAC system is clean, it doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain the temperature you desire. As a result, less energy is used leading to improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Chuck’s utilizes industry leading Hepa-filtered vacuums. We create “a negative” on duct work, then agitate debris with brushes which moves toward the Hepa-filtered vacuums. In addition to cleaning duct work, we usually take further steps to clean the furnace and coils.
HVAC UV lights are very effective at controlling mold inside the air handler. All mold in line-of-sight of the UV bulb will be killed, keeping the coil mold-free.
Dehumidifiers reduce humidity levels, making your home or office less hospitable to allergens such as dust mites, mold, and mildew.
Humidifiers help maintain proper moisture levels in the human body (eyes, nose, mucus membranes) making you less susceptible to pollution in the air including viruses and bacteria. Proper humidification reduces discomfort, levels of dust, static electricity charge, susceptibility to colds, and improves cold recovery time.
Filtration upgrades and Hepa bypass filtration are used on HVAC systems to reduce indoor airborne dust, debris, pollen, and mold spores or allergens.
Energy recovery ventilation (ERV) is the energy recovery process of exchanging the energy contained in normally exhausted building or space air and using it to treat (precondition) the incoming outdoor ventilation air in residential and commercial HVAC systems.
Heat recovery ventilation (HRV) or mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) provides fresh air and improved climate control, while also saving energy by reducing heating and cooling requirements. HRV’s are energy recovery ventilation systems that use equipment known as a heat recovery ventilator, heat exchanger, air exchanger, or air-to-air heat exchanger which employs a cross flow or counter-flow heat exchanger (countercurrent heat exchange) between the inbound and outbound air flow.
